Mustang Excellence Program

The purpose of this program is to reward those individuals who work year-round to become better football players, better students, and better people- in turn making our football team and program better. The final totals of the program will be posted the morning of the first day of official practice in August.

Those who finish in the top 10 of the program will earn trophies (which will be passed out at the end of the year banquet). The last 10 people on the list will be responsible for carrying equipment in and out each day throughout the first two weeks of practice. If one of the individuals who are in the bottom 10 should quit, than the next person with the lowest number of points will be on equipment detail. Clearly it is in the individuals’ best interest to accumulate as many points as possible by day 1 of camp.

A=50 pts. B=40 pts. C=30 pts. D=10 pts. F=0 pts.

FOOTBALL OFF-SEASON TRAINING GRADES

A= RELENTLESS in attitude and effort; always willing to do extra and influence others to do better. The player is at the workout everyday and trains hard with great intensity. Top 10 % of the team!

B=EXCELLENT in attitude and effort; will work extra and exhibit desire to be a champion. The player attends workouts everyday. The difference between an A and a B is intensity in the workout.

C=SUCCESSFUL- Attendance at workouts is good (about 75%); intensity and effort is usually good; breaks personal records and improves in speed and strength.

D=SUB-PAR- Although he may make progress in speed and strength, he doesn’t understand the level of commitment needed to be great.

F=NOT ACCEPTABLE- Occasional attendance, maybe even some progress in speed and strength, but the desire to be a champion just does not exist.
